Operation Recreation maintains commercial rental insurance on our rental fleet. Eligible renters and authorized drivers receive coverage under the applicable commercial rental policy, subject to the policy's terms, limits, conditions and exclusions. You do not need to purchase a mandatory daily insurance package from us.

Insurance Included With Your Rental

Coverage differs slightly between self-driven motorhomes and towable RVs. The information below summarizes the current commercial rental policy and does not replace the policy or Rental Agreement.

Motorhomes

Eligible renters and authorized drivers are insured under our commercial rental policy while operating the rented motorhome, subject to policy terms and exclusions.

  • Bodily Injury Liability: $25,000 per person / $50,000 per accident
  • Property Damage Liability: $15,000 per accident
  • Medical Payments: $2,000 per person
  • Uninsured Motorist: $25,000 / $50,000
  • Underinsured Motorist: $25,000 / $50,000
  • Commercial physical damage coverage applies to the rented motorhome, subject to policy terms and the applicable deductible

Travel Trailers & Toy Haulers

Our towable fleet carries commercial rental coverage and physical damage coverage. When a trailer is connected to a renter's tow vehicle, the tow vehicle's applicable liability insurance is generally primary and our trailer liability coverage is excess, subject to policy terms.

  • Commercial physical damage coverage on the rented trailer
  • Current policy deductible: $1,000
  • Commercial liability coverage subject to the policy's terms and other-insurance provisions
  • Your tow vehicle must meet all towing and equipment requirements
Important: The $1,000 policy deductible is not a promise that a renter's total responsibility can never exceed $1,000. Renters may remain responsible under the Rental Agreement for deductibles, excluded or uninsured losses, misuse, prohibited use, loss of use and other applicable charges.

Renter & Driver Requirements

We keep the documentation process simple. These requirements apply before a self-pickup rental can be released.

What we need

  • Primary renter must be 25 years of age or older
  • All authorized drivers must be 25 or older and listed on the Rental Agreement
  • Valid driver's license for the renter and each authorized driver
  • Current personal auto insurance card on file for the primary renter

Why we ask for an insurance card

Your personal insurance card is required as part of our rental documentation and insurance requirements. Providing an insurance card does not mean your personal policy necessarily covers the rented RV. Coverage under your personal policy is determined by your own insurance carrier.

Optional Protection & Roadside Assistance

These options are not required to rent from Operation Recreation.

Optional Loss of Use Waiver

$9.95 per rental night

If selected, Operation Recreation will waive qualifying loss-of-use charges resulting from accidental damage during your rental that causes the RV to be unavailable for subsequent rentals.

This waiver is not insurance and does not cover physical damage to the RV, the policy deductible, towing, cleaning, missing items, intentional damage, prohibited use or other charges under the Rental Agreement. Final waiver terms are governed by the Rental Agreement.

MBA Roadside Assistance

$15 per day, purchased directly through MBA Insurance.

Optional roadside assistance is available for renters who want additional roadside support during their trip. It must be purchased at least 48 hours before your scheduled rental begins and cannot be added at pickup or after the trip has started.

Stationary Delivered Rentals

When we deliver and set up an RV that remains stationary for the reservation, the renter does not drive or tow the unit. Commercial coverage remains subject to the applicable policy and Rental Agreement.

  • We deliver and set up the RV
  • The RV remains at the delivery location during the reservation
  • No towing or driving by the renter
  • If the reservation changes to self-pickup, all self-pickup driver and documentation requirements apply

Quick Answers

Is commercial insurance included?

Yes. Eligible rentals include coverage under Operation Recreation's commercial rental policy, subject to policy terms, limits, conditions and exclusions.

Is there a required daily insurance charge?

No. We do not require renters to purchase a separate daily insurance package from Operation Recreation.

Do I still need an insurance card?

Yes. A current personal auto insurance card is required for self-pickup rentals. This does not guarantee that your personal policy covers the rented RV.

What is the physical damage deductible?

The current commercial policy carries a $1,000 physical damage deductible. Renter responsibility is governed by the Rental Agreement and can include amounts beyond the deductible when applicable.

Is the Loss of Use Waiver insurance?

No. It is an optional agreement from Operation Recreation to waive qualifying loss-of-use charges under its terms. It does not waive responsibility for physical damage or other charges.

Can I add roadside assistance?

Yes. MBA offers optional roadside assistance for $15/day. Purchase it directly from MBA at least 48 hours before your rental begins.
